Disney Trivia

swanmaiden asked: Hey! Remember me, the one that asked about Maelstrom? Well, I'm going to Disneyworld in NINE DAYS! I'm ready to get out of here! Tell me, what's your favourite thing about each of the countries in Epcot? I want to hear some of the things YOU like the best. x

Of course! I remember all of my followers! I love you all!

I hope you have a great trip! Hmm, lets see… my favorite thing about each of the countries…

Well, the first for all of them would have to be the atmosphere. The Disney imagineers worked SO hard to create the feeling that you were actually in that country, and with a little imagination, you could totally pretend that you are! I’ll go around the “world” in order.

Mexico - Definitely the inside of the pavilion is my favorite. It’s designed so beautifully to look like a Mexican square at night, with lots of shops and places to eat (and drink if you’re old enough :]) It’s also where Mexico’s ride is. And, the best part is, it’s air conditioned!!!!!

Norway - Maelstrom is definitely the highlight of Norway. It’s one of those rides that I’ve gone on every time I’ve been there, so it always brings back special memories.

China - The 360 film “Reflections of China” is breathtaking! Don’t skip it! Also, we ate at Nine Dragons, and the food was delicious.

Germany - Germany is my favorite, mostly because I speak German and have loved every trip to Germany I’ve taken. If you can speak to the cast members at the world showcase in their native language, do so! From what I’ve seen, even if it’s just a ‘hello’ or ‘goodbye’, your effort will almost always bring a smile to their face. Anyway, the miniature train village is very cute, and all of the shops are great.

Italy - I still didn’t make it to Italy this time! I don’t remember ever going into the pavillion, so I really don’t know.

America - If you’re a choir girl like me, you have to see the Voices of Liberty. They never fail to disappoint.  When we were there, we also saw the Fife and Drum Corps, which I had never seen before, so it may have been because it was Memorial Day Weekend.

Japan -Mitsukoshi (the department store) is awesome. It’s huge! And again, it’s air conditioned :)

Morocco - The henna artists are my favorite part. They do beautiful work!

France - We never made it to France this trip :(

The UK - Aside from the shops (TEA!!!!!!!!!! sorry) the World Showcase Players are the most fun thing there. My boyfriend got pulled into the show, and I was laughing so hard I couldn’t hold the camera steady.

Canada - Again, the 360 movie is awesome. And if you’re a good little Celtic girl like me, don’t miss Off Kilter. What could be better than Irish rock? Jamie, the bagpiper, is the most awesome and talented piper I’ve ever seen.

Once I get it all finished, I’ll post a link to my other blog, where I’m putting up all of the “don’t miss” tips from my trip, along with my pictures.

Anonymous asked: In the last picture you took in Walt Disney World, are you in line to ride Journey into the Imagination with Figment in EPCOT? The signs behind you seem to have that formatting.

Yup! That’s exactly where I was! Good eyes!

Anonymous asked: It's been 1 week! :( Please post again soon!

I know! I’m sorry guys. With getting back from Disney and then the holiday weekend and graduations to go to, it’s been a hectic week!

I should be all settled down and back to regular posting this week. And I’ll answer a few questions today :)

I can’t believe today was my last day at Walt Disney World

It’s been such an awesome trip. And although I’ll be glad to be home (I miss my kitties), I’ll miss it so much.

Hey guys. I know I promised to update last night, but our wifi was down. I’m in Epcot today for day 1 of 2. (I have my hair extension in so it looks like I have long hair [: ). So far it’s been an awesome day. Hope the rain lets up!

Hey guys! Sorry I went MIA the past two days, they were the first opportunities I had all week to pack. (That is, I procrastinated so I HAD to pack thursday and yesterday). I’m at the airport, all ready to go. This was the easiest check in and security I’ve ever had, so hopefully that means a great trip.

I’ll do some updating an question answering when we get settled in tonight.

I’M GOING TO WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!

Originally named Countdown to Extinction, the ride’s name was changed to DINOSAUR to promotethe film of the same name after it’s release on May 19, 2000. The attraction has never contained any explicit references to the film, however, the two dinosaurs most prominently featured in the ride have always been an Iguanadon and Carnotaurus, which were both featured prominently in the film. Scenes from the movie also appear in the pre-show, to help the guests identify the Iguanadon as the film’s protagonist, Aladar.
The attraction would now be marketed as a direct companion to the film, rather than a subtle tie-in. The original statue of theStyracosaurusin front of the building was taken away and replaced with a statue of Aladar. Now that the attraction was marketed as a companion the film, more children would be riding. Because of this, the movement of theEnhanced motion vehicleswas changed to be less intense and the ride was also given a less frightening soundtrack.
(I rode Countdown to Extinction in 1998, shortly after the park opened, and even at 9 years old, it scared the bejesus out of me!)
