Well, I don’t know much more than the basics on the Disney College Program. It is a U.S. national internship program operated by The Walt Disney Company, located at the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort. The Disney College Program recruits college students (18 years and older) for a semester-long paid internship program working at the Disney Resorts. There is also an international placement program.
In addition to working in the parks in positions such as food and beverage, merchandise, attractions, custodial, hospitality, and character work during their internship at the Disney Parks, students can take classes. Disney offeres 8 different courses, each focusing on a Disney topic, rather than a business area. Students are required to do textbook readings, write term papers and participate on projects. Each course offers participants the possibility to earn college credit during their program if their college accepts it.
I personally never did the college program. Unfortunately, it just never seemed like a good time to go. If you want some inside info on what it’s like, I’d suggest checking out these blogs:
My frind Brie is currently in her second round of the College Program - http://briebaldwin.tumblr.com
Caitlin runs http://haphazarddisney.tumblr.com. In addition to her tumblr, you can read her blog devoted to her CP experiences, as well as her CP To Do list.
Check them out, and tell them I sent you ;D
