Do you know if the kingdom in Tangled was modeled after Mont Saint- Micheal in France? I've been to Mont Saint-Micheal and can see some similarities so I was wondering if they used it as inspiration for the design of the kingdom? Thanks!

Yes they did! According to Disney art designer Laurent Ben-Mimoun,

"The idea was for Glen [Keane] to have a renaissance castle on an island, reminiscent of Mont St Michel in Normandie, France. Emulating the style of the ‘peinture galante’ (by Fragonard) was the art direction. That was my brief and from there, I designed the castle and its surroundings."

Ben-Mimoun added in aspects of other French Renaissance castles and fortresses in to complete the finalized look that appears in the film.
